I have since 2 days ago near my G1 and Milestone also now have a Nokia N900. I have therefore now compared with each other and this will now reflect my experience here.

• Maemo Android is more open than most regarding root access issue. Say rootsh root (local) and OpenSSH (root via SSH connection) can be installed directly over the Programmmananger, and you get root access, either locally in the X-terminal and / or an SSH connection.
